On April 18, 2026, we rode at what used to be called 95A and is now called the Reno/Fernley Racway (I am actually not sure what the official name is anymore). Anyway, Greg Stevens and the crew did a really good job getting the track prepped and there was a good showing of riders. There were so many riders they split practice between the Expert/Intermediate, Novice and little bikes/beginners. I only saw a couple of tip overs, mine included! lol.
We only had three riders, including myself, my daughter Anna and my son Scottorn. Anna rode with her new gear from O’Neal, including a new helmet from O’Neal. It looks really good and made it easier to see her on the track, which is great for us, especially when we have multiple children on the track at the same time and we are trying to keep our eyes on them.
We arrived at the track at about 8:30 for practice to begin at 9:00. The weather was perfect. A little on the cool side in the morning but perfect all day. The track was nice and loamy and a couple muddy spots here and there. Unfortunately, not enough of the good riders rode the first practice session to set up some ruts. It seemed like most people waited until the track dried out to get on the track, which is understandable, but would have been fun to have some bigger ruts.
My daughter had fun riding with the little kids but ended up riding with the novice class because the kids were too, let’s say, unpredictable. Lol
Scottorn bombed the track all day and by the end was hitting every jump.
I chickened out on the jumps. I can hit all of them, because I have before, but we have not been to this track in so long I was a little hesitant on the booter in the middle and the triple/dragon’s back.

My wife, Keyonna, and our other children, Summer, Liesel, Finley and Callan were a great pit crew, as always. We also brought our two dogs, Apline and Blaze.

We don’t get out to the paid tracks very often, so it was a real treat to be able to ride this track on such a great day with a great track set up. I should also mention that the track crew was great. They did a great job managing the practices and watering the track throughout the day. They had one hiccup when the water truck ran out of gas and it got a little dusty for a minute there, but overall the whole crew did a great job managing the track and the riders safety.
